Debra Lewis is director of communications for AdvanSix Inc.
She was most recently associate director of Corporate Communications at Verizon Wireless. She has been responsible for promoting the company’s commitment and programs devoted to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue among employees, customers and the community. In that capacity she oversaw Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine® program which encourages consumers to donate no-longer-used cell phones, and turns those phones into money or wireless service for victims of domestic violence and the agencies that serve them. She also led other national community relations activities, which, in the past have included support for disaster relief through innovative text messaging campaigns and working with the Verizon Foundation on employee volunteerism projects. In addition, she helps manage communication of the company’s public policy initiatives, including taxation, privacy and other legal matters, law enforcement issues, and regulatory matters, at both the federal and state levels.
Debra is a founding board member of A Partnership for Change, a newly-formed, New Jersey-based organization focused on educating communities about the prevention of family violence. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and an MBA from Cornell University.
