Our Director
Kim Wells is the Executive Director of the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence and one of the country's foremost experts on the subject of partner violence in the workplace.
Her Expertise
CAEPV members consider Kim one of the key benefits of membership. She serves as a "consultant-on-demand," offering companies personalized assistance implementing programs tailored to their organization's culture and objectives. She can assist with training, speaking points, program guidance or crisis consultation and can help members develop community outreach programs and partnerships. She is a highly visible liaison between the Alliance and the public - and a leading voice in the fight against domestic violence.

Kim is also available for speaking engagements or to consult on specific issues or projects. Her deep understanding of the unique challenges and sensitivities of implementing workplace programs has helped numerous organizations address this critical issue.

Kimberly K. Wells

Kim Wells is the Executive Director of the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence. The Alliance is a leading force in the fight against domestic violence, and is the only national organization of its kind founded by business leaders and focused on the workplace. Since 1995, the Alliance has brought together dozens of progressive companies who exchange information, collaborate on projects, and use their influence to instigate change. With corporate members and affiliates reaching over a million employees across the nation, CAEPV members include Allstate Insurance Company, Altria Group, Inc., American Express, Archer Daniels Midland, Avon Products, Inc., Blue Shield of California Foundation, CIGNA, COUNTRY Financial, Eastman Kodak, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Health Care Service Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, Lifetime Television, Liz Claiborne Inc., Mary Kay Inc., Northern Trust Company, RAND, State Farm Insurance Companies, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Communications. Internationally, the Corporate Alliance Against Domestic Violence UK, and the Hurriyet Newspaper Group in Turkey are  CAEPV member organizations.

Nationally, Kim serves as a member of the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic Violence, the National Faculty for the National Family Justice Center Alliance, the Advisory Board for the Allstate Foundation Domestic Violence Program, ASIS International Workplace Violence Prevention and Response Guideline Committee, and the Workplace Committee of the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence Against Women. In Illinois, Kim has been a core faculty member of the Illinois Attorney General's Victim Assistance Academy, and has been a member of the Governor's Commission on the Status of Women in Illinois Violence Reduction Working Group. She co-chaired the Promotion Committee for the State of Illinois as it developed and distributed a statewide model policy for partner violence and sexual assault and the workplace.

On state and local levels, Kim is a member of the Steering Committee of the Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council, in addition to serving on the 11th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council Planning Committee and co-chairing the McLean County Domestic Violence Task Force Youth and Children Work Group. She serves on the advisory board of Stepping Stones, the sexual assault service provider for McLean County.

Kim is former adjunct faculty Illinois State University in Normal, IL, and Heartland Community College in Bloomington, IL, and continues to guest lecture at both institutions. She is a graduate of the LEADERSHIP AMERICA 1999 American Issues Forum.

Kim is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer in the United States and internationally on topics such as partner violence and the workplace, workplace violence, organizational ethics and leadership. Internationally, she has assisted the Australian government and Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality in Israel in creating business partnerships to address intimate partner violence as a workplace issue and has worked in Jordan to help build public-private partnerships between NGOs and businesses in that country. Kim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology.
