CAEPV Executive Director Named to National Advisory Board for President's Family Justice Center Initiative
The Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence is pleased to announce that Executive Director Kim Wells has been named to the National Advisory Board
for the President's Family Justice Center Initiative
. President Bush announced this new initiative at the White House on October 8 of 2003, and the federal government has provided funds to start several Family Justice Centers across the U.S.
The national initiative is designed to play a crucial role in developing multi-disciplinary service centers for victims of domestic violence and their children -- and the San Diego Family Justice Center will serve as a demonstration site for these new centers. To quote San Diego City Attorney Casey Gwinn, "It is a movement that promises to play a critical role in breaking the cycle of family violence in homes across our country for years to come."
